This is a fabulous book - scary, funny, sad and immensely readable. King draws us back into his favourite imaginary town of Derry (now who would live in that town?) A childhood pledge made by seven children must be honoured 25 years down the tracks. King expertly weaves past and present together to make this a blockbuster of a book - I love it and have read it many times. Highly recommended.
A seriously terrifying book! One of Kings best pieces of work without a doubt. There are indepth characters and storylines that pull you into their world with ease. Once you finish this book you'll feel like reading it again to feel like a part of it once more. If you're just starting to sample Stephen Kings work then this has to be one of the first you pick up.
Of all the Stephen King books I have read this is the greatest. He has quite a knack of getting into his characters heads, so that by the end of the book you have such a great personal knowledge of these characters you really feel like your losing friends when you put the book down. This book takes you back to your childhood where you remember friendships formed, loyalties, love and loss. It truly is a masterpiece in my eyes.
this is a great book.one of my favorite stephen king books.unlike some of his books, this one is exciting from the beginning till the end.So well written i read it so many times. The idea of a clown, eating children is o bizare and brilliant at the same time. Its scary and entertaining in so many ways its just a story what stays in your mind for a very long time.you will not laught at clowns anymore and if you walk by a drain on the street on a rainy day, you kind of expecting to see a baloon in there...
This book scared me absolutely silly when I was younger (as did the equally terrifying film). If you're one of the unfortunate few who has a fear of clowns, avoid this novel like the plague, because it will ruin you for life. A great read from the master of thrillers and frights. Horror fans will love it.
This is one of the best stephen king novels ever, it follows 4 teenagers and there adventures in their small town, after young kids start to go missing the children become aware of an evil that is trying to take them below, the evil clown is after them and he will give you hallucinations and try to frighten you and take you below never to be seen again, a high adventure and very frightening and well written story, lots of layers, great depth of character, imaginative, entertaining, just brilliant
