dean koontz is the best horror author ever, i loved this book, it kept me on edge, ur new age frankenstein monster and cloned robots.. its a gripping book. it lets ur imagination run wild. but i dint like the ending because it just stops abruptly leaving the rest to ur imagination which is a bummer but this was a great novel, im abig dean koontz fan now

I would strongly recommend reading the first book in Koontz's Frankenstein series, The Prodigal Son, before starting City of Night, though it isn't completely necessary. This book follows directly from events that left readings begging for more in the first book and whirlwinds its way through sub-plots, twisting and turning around several characters. With the third book due to be released, now would be the perfect time to begin this fascinating and enthralling series. These modern-day Frankenstein novels rival Odd Thomas's stories for my favourite Koontz series.

Frankenstein adaptions are usually pretty boring but this one is very different. The characters are fabulous. I even found myself shedding a tear for the Head and Hand. And how could you not love the monkish Monster with his magic coin trick. The only thing I hated about the book is the ending which leaves a lot of the story hanging. I can't wait to read the second book to find out what happens next. Will the evil guy get his comeuppance? I can't wait to find out. I thoroughly recommend this book. It's a great read.

I rarely ever read because I get frustrated with how long it takes me to read something because I read at a very slow pace, and I will find myself reading the same sentence over and over again, but I finished this book in under a week. Once I started reading I was completely hooked into it and I only put it down when my vision began to get too blurry to read anymore. This series does a good job of bringing the Frankenstein story into our time and combining it with todays fears about how far is too far when it comes to cloning. I will reccomend this book to anyone who will let me.
