Mairan Keyes yet again delivers a quirky story line that interweaves all three characters of the novel. A very entertaining read, and one that will keep you turning the pages. This is one of Marian Keyes 's better books, but it follows the same sort of story telling as Sushi for beginners - a plot of three characters all interweaving with each other. This is a great winter read, with loads of laughs and "i do that" moments.
A good summer vacation read. I like her books because you can take them to Fiji and immerse yourself in the story and then leave the book behind (more space for shopping!). Took a few chapters to get into but you end up caring about the characters and find it hard to put down. An interesting twist at the end and enjoyably unpredictable.
Quite a funny read that didnt turn out how I expected in the end and has made me quite self-conscious about writing a review (you'll know why if you read the book) because its a good book, not my favourite of hers so I won't rave about it. It took me a little while to get into but once you do its difficult to put down. I got a little frustraited when you keep changing characters because you start getting attatched to one story and then the other begins. I didnt find the Character Gemma very likeable either but Loved Jojo and Mark!!
This was the first Marian Keyes book that I have read. Usually chick lit do not interest me. But this was different. It was funny as well as touching and I liked Marian's conversationalist style. Her characters talk to the readers, making it a lot easier to connect with them.
I loved the email exchanges between Jojo (the publishing agent) and Mark (a partner in the publishing firm). The tension in their relationship felt very real. The cryptic crosswords were clever!
Most of all, I loved Anton! He is THE MAN! Wish they existing in real life too. :)
A great book for a light hearted, relaxing read. Definitely a page turner. I was up till 2.30 am in the morning on a week night to finish reading it!
Another enjoyable Marian Keyes book. The different sides of relationships and their ups and downs, and the twists of the plot is always enjoyable reading, Marian Keyes has the knack of being able to make you cry and laugh in the same chapter. Her Irish settings are always interesting reading as well.
Always a pleasure to read Marian Keye's fluffy and entertaining plots. It was never an effort picking up this book, and in fact I actually found myself being late a couple of times for over reading! Great characters, full of colour and humour. Also a good insight into the harsh and competitive world of publishing, and how difficult is to get a book published! Definitely a must for Marian fans!
