Harry can't wait for his holidays with the dire Dursleys to end. But a small, self-punishing house-elf warns Harry of mortal danger awaiting him at Hogwarts School. Returning to the castle nevertheless, Harry hears a rumour about a chamber of secrets, holding unknown horrors to magicians of Muggle parentage. Now someone is casting spells that turn people to stone, and a terrible warning is found painted on the wall. The chief suspect who's always in the wrong place is Harry. But something much darker has yet to be unleashed.

'A wonderful creation The comic handling of the material and the insight into the child's world are fresh and magical in every sense the new Harry Potter is in my suitcase ready for my holiday' Ian Hislop, Sunday Telegraph 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, unlike many sequels, is as good as its predecessor Hogwarts is a creation of genius' Times Literary Supplement 'It seemed so unlikely that she could replicate the imaginative power, emotional intensity and entrancing complexity of the prototype, that I received the draft of volume two with trepidation. It's good to be wrong sometimes' Glasgow Herald 'An intricately woven, highly imaginative tale cleverly textured, sophisticated fiction' Scotland on Sunday

readers will no doubt delight in this second helping of harry potter's magical adventures, especially when ron weasely's outrageous family and splendidly magcial home, the burrow, is introduced. j k rowling has never done better, and readers will do them selves a great wrong if they miss tis book
great edition of the book. would recommend you to read them all. all worth the read and so hard to put down. The price is nothing compared to the enjoyment that you will get from reading this book. You definately want to purchase this book as you will be missing out if you dont
cool edition to the book. its so hard to choose a favourite in the harry potter series so i would recommend you to read them all. all worth the read and so hard to put down. The price is nothing compared to the enjoyment that you will get from reading this book. You definately want to purchase this book as you will be missing out if you dont
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is and very well written book that has it all. It has adventure, excitement, a bit of darkness, good, evil, courage and hope. To top that off its very well written by J k Rowling easy to read and you tend to just get sucked in to the storyline.
chamber of secrets isnt my fave out of this series, but i still do enjoy reading about how harry discovers his secret talent, and his little jaunt with the beast of slytherin. this book starts of with harry being trapped once again at privet drive, but has a nice rescue scene fairly soon into the book, gripping stuff! a must read for fans.
It is always fantastic to reread the earlier Harry Potter books, when little Harry Potter was still a rather innocent little wizard, still unaffected by puberty (the later, full of teenage angst Harry does tend to get on the nerves a little sometimes). This book is dark, but still filled with JK Rowling's wonderful humor and magic
This is the best harry potter book from the series. I really dig this concept of the Basilisk and so on. Its much more exciting and engaging and i would easily nominate this as the best harry potter book so far in the series. Nicely written and keeps you reading. Five stars
The first Harry Potter book was very mediocre and I have no idea why it sparked a worldwide frenzy. Thankfully, someone made a bigger effort on this second book, and it is a significant improvement. The plot is more interesting and less predictable, and the characters aren't quite as stereotyped. There is a tiny amount of character development for Harry, although very little at this point. I did enjoy this book, although it is more like confectionary than 'great literature'. Thankfully the 3rd book was a little better than this one.
Anyway an adult edition is a nice idea. The cover looks great. I was always a little shy reading the ones with kiddie covers in public.
Carries on beautifully from Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone. We have the magical flying Ford Anglia, the mysterious house elf dobby and the ofcourse the books namesake, the dreaded Chamber of secrets.
The character of Gilderoy Lockhart (defence against the dark arts teacher) is unfortunately a rather weak construction.
Nevertheless, the book is a good read. You won't be disappointed.
If you haven't Heard of Harry Potter then its time to move out from under that rock!
JK Rowling's Creation is a brilliant creation which carry's its reader through the a magical world which runs parallel to (but hidden from) our life. The Story threads, seemingly simple to begin with, weave into a complex fabric which encourages the reader to expand their reading so that every clue, however small, is understood.
Orphaned at a young age Harry is raised by his Aunt and Uncle, who treat him as a servant, It is not until his eleventh birthday that the Magical world fully envelopes him.
Now with his Friends Ron and Hermione. Harry struggles to master his wizardly powers, while Various powers try to destroy him. Powers which lead back to Voldemort the Man who Killed his Parents and who's very name evokes fear in the Wizarding Community.
