Harry is furious that he has been abandoned at the Dursleys' house for the summer, for he suspects that Voldemort is gathering an army, that he himself could be attacked, and that his so-called friends are keeping him in the dark. Finally being rescued by wizard bodyguards, he discovers that Dumbledore is regrouping the Order of the Phoenix a secret society first formed years ago to fight Voldemort. But the Ministry of Magic is against the Order, lies are being spread by the wizards' tabloid, the Daily Prophet, and Harry fears that he may have to take on this epic battle against evil alone.
Reviews
'Much like Roald Dahl, J.K. Rowling has a gift for keeping the emotions, fears and triumphs of her characters on a human scale, even while the supernatural is popping out all over' New York Times Book Review 'The only thing wrong with the 'Harry Potter' books is that, after them, no other books come up to scratch' Mail on Sunday 'The richness and scale of Rowling's invention is exhilarating. These may be complex novels but the real proof of their quality lies in their power to draw the reader into Harry's world and make it seem entirely believable' Guardian 'This is a world so fully and richly imagined that every detail makes resonant sense: characters so complete that they feel like old friends, settings elaborately visualised in every element, a universe created with such zest and care that it feels, in all its fantastic magic, entirely real' Scotsman

J.K Rowling is a genius. its so hard to choose a favourite in the harry potter series so i would recommend you to read them all. all worth the read and so hard to put down. The price is nothing compared to the enjoyment that you will get from reading this book. You definately want to purchase this book as you will be missing out if you dont
Harry Potter and the order fo the Phoenix was an awesome book. It had a luminous storyline that i really enjoyed and got into. The writing well done J K being brilliant. I really enjoyed the book. Thebook left me feeling bright happy and satisfied. Recommend this product for all. It is definitely worth buying.
loved this book! so exciting, and so much more revealed about the world, such as how voldemort can die, and so much about a prophecy which started the whole chain of events off. also a bit more focus on the fighting against lord voldemort, and what is planning to be done. really shocking turn of events at the end too!
this is probably so far the harry potter book that provides the most information about harry -- his past, the reason why voldermort wants to kill him so badly (a very shocking revelation about one neville longbottom) and the death of a character that had not only made an impact on harry's life, but the readers as well
The Order of the Phoenix is one of the best Harry Potter novels from the series. Not particularly my favourite but its up there. This book proves that they are not just for kids as there are some great scenes of violence and gore. I really enjoyed this novel, great read
Some have criticised the fifth novel in the Harry Potter series, but frankly I found it as good if not better than its predecessor, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Harry's summer is disrupted when Lupin and Madeye (from the 3rd and 4th novels respectively) come to call at his home with a whole band of other wizards all of whom belong to the mysterious Order of the Phoenix. We are plunged yet again into the world of magic and danger.
