– Customer review on 13/03/2007 A therapist nightmare: a client who lies her way through long term therapy, session after session. A client who comes into therapy with the aim to get the therapist into trouble and therefore tries to seduce him sexually. Again Yalom mixes a good story with a lot of theory about professional boundaries, the therapeutic relationship, etc...Yalom always makes the therapists in his books so real, the reader almost becomes part of the struggle and I noticed how I started thinking much more about the ethics in this profession, the black/white and greys, the vulnerability of the clients but also the vulnerability of the therapist. Good read for therapists and non therapists.
