This novel is an excellent exploration into the repressive societ that Kesey felt was in control in his time. It tackles the idea of conformity through a newcomer patient, McMurphy, who quickly asserts that the patients act like rabbits. The novel is a tragedy, and is structured accordingly. Kesey makes a strong point about conformity, and sexual freedom. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a must read!

this book is really likely to toudh you, as the ending is so shcoking and unexpected. this tells of RP mcmurphy, who comes to a mental home hoping to get a break from prison. he then finds it to be just as tough, and really touches all that he meets there. the book delves much deeper than the movie into these issues, making it a very good read!

Ken Keseys One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest is a ground breaking classic novel of the 60's embarking on a new twist of writing and ltrature. I would like to firstly dispose of the myth of this book being written while he was on LSD. Truth is that he did write alot of it on LSD but these pages where not up t scratch as he saw and only a few of these passages where included. My favourite book of all time.

This is very different but a thrilling read. Its important to keep in mind that Kesey was high on drugs when he wrote this novel, and the amazing perspectives reflected in his writing are explained by this! The first few pages are sort of hard to read, but the rest of the novel makes much more sense. This modern novel written inthe 60s deals with many issues including feminism, civil rights movement of the time and with many other themes which are still important today. Highly recommended!
