A Highland Christmas

In the highlands of Lochdubh, Scotland, crime doesn't take a holiday. At Christmas, Constable Hamish Macbeth finds himself protecting an unhappy girl, unlocking the secrets of a frightened old woman, and retrieving some stolen holiday goods. Now the lawman must use all his charm and skills to make things right before Lochdubh is forced to face another dreary winter without Yuletide cheer.

In the wintry Highlands of Lochdubh, Scotland, Old St. Nick is about as welcome as a flat tire on a deserted road. The Calvinist townspeople of Lochdubh have always resisted the trimmings of what they consider a secular holiday, so for most, there's no pudding, carols, banquets, gifts, or even whisky for Christmas. Nor is crime taking a holiday, as Hamish Macbeth soon discovers when he tries to save an old lady's cat and finds out that the woman herself is in trouble. Then thieves make off with a Christmas tree in nearby Cnothan, and an ordinarily sweet little local girl starts inexplicably misbehaving. Now it's up to Hamish to set things right.
