Gabriel, a master of the darkness, awakens with a hunger for blood. As he hunts the streets of Paris for prey, a soothing voice calls to him, giving him strength to control his craving. Francesca Del Ponce is a healer who radiates goodness. But Gabriel's obsession with her would turn him as his twin brother had turned, leaving the world with two monsters instead of one. |

This was a great read, and is followed by the "Dark Guardian". Gabriel is distraught that his twin Lucian has turned vampire after centuries of fighting battles together. Gabriel has also been close to turning many times but is afraid to die and unleash his brothers powers on the world.
When he has lost so much he finds an angel of mercy (Francesca), she is a compassionate healer who has many hidden secrets, ones that must be unraveled....

My favourite in the dark series. Theres lots of suspense and intrigue: when is lucian going to finally strike? As well as of course plenty of romance. Normally the plot about one lifemate capturing another is what grabs me but I especially enjoyed the other plot in this book between the twins. It was an excellent read and I would recommend to all!!!

This another one of my favourite in Feehan Dark Series. Gabriel is an ancient Carpathian, powerful, and arrogant, he has spent centuries trapped beneath the ground with his vampire twin brother. Francesca, also a Carpathian, is his lifemate, unknowingly abandoned by Gabriel centuries ago, and shes had enough of her half-life and wants to face the dawn. But Gabriel is not going to let her go that easily, and so sets out to convince her that their love is too precious to throw away.
Their love for each other is powerful. Their love for a young abused girl is heartbreaking, and the love between Gabriel and his brother is just amazing. If you dont own this book, go out and buy it now.

This is so awesome! I admire the heroine, Francesca Del Ponce, who managed to escape the male dominated Carpathian Mountains and create a new life for herself. For hundreds of years she concealed herself from passing Carpathians and the Undead, becoming so human that even one of the Ancients, Gabriel, did not realize. Francesca is reluctant to start a relationship with him, but when they do a great happiness Gabriel had never felt consumed them. But Lucian, Gabriels brother who became undead, stalks in the shadows threatening everything. Great Book, I loved it and highly recommend it to others.

Set in Paris, this book would have to be one of the most interesting in the series. With all new characters, one of which is an independent Carpathian woman who has lived quite happily without male assistance for centuries, and a legendary vampire hunter who has been missing for centuries (actually he was sleeping and as such has yet to catch up with the whole women's lib movement).
What follows is an enthralling tale as both characters strive to cope with the sudden appearance of a significant other in their formerly solitary lives (and to kill the vampires and fall in love etc...). In all I highly recommend this book to all vampire lovers and Christine Feehan fans alike.
