Megan's Mark was my first Lora Leigh book and definitely different, basically I will put it down to 95% sex and 5% romance.
After conflicting postivie reviews I was frankly disappointed with the quality of this book as I believe it is a very fine line between erotica and romance.
As for the concept it cetainaly sounds good and looks like a definite promising parmanormal series of genetically bred warriors under the guise of breeds.
Unfortunately for me did not deliver and does not inspire me to buy more of her books.

Megan’s Mark
I take back everything I ever said about Lora Leigh. What did I say, you ask? That her earlier shorter stories about the Breeds were 90% sex, 9% good characters, and 1% plot. In fact I gave up on her, so it was a fortunate coincidence that brought her latest offering, the full-length ‘Megan’s Mark’ to my attention. Now this is a good book. Sure, there is more sex in it than Feehan and Knight combined, and be warned, some of it is very explicit, but it is also passionate, meaningful, and often beautifully described. And this time Leigh has added great characters and a plot. Not just a plot, but an edge-of-your-seat plot full of bad guys, explosions, and . . . well, more explosions. She even offers a strong heroine in Deputy Sheriff Megan Fields, a powerful empath who is so sensitive to emotions that she needs to live in the quiet desert to survive. Things, however, grow less serene when someone targets her for assassination and Lion Breed warrior, Braden Arness, created through genetic manipulation, has to protect her, and discovers in her his Mate. The thing about Breeds and their mates? Mating Heat. So again I warn you: if you’re not into strong sex scenes, this isn’t the book for you.
This was my first book my Lora Leigh and boy did it blow my socks off!
You can tell Lora Leigh has previously been writing for Ellora's Cave as Megans Mark is while a mystery/suspense chock full of the steamier side of romance Megan is a very cool chick with a wicked gun collection who has the odd issue or two, and dont even get me started on Braden who is a lion/human crossbreed that literally jumps off the page. Ms Leigh has got her hands full with this series while being quite sexual still manages to slip in the odd social/political issue.
This was my first Lora Leigh. There is definitely some of the elements of Ellora's Cave within the book, which up until now Leigh has written solely for. This is her 1st "main stream" and a good read. The story of the breeds. Genetically bred warriors who have escaped their scientist creators and are now living throughout the world. Good paranormal romance and just a tad spicy!
