– Customer review on 06/08/2007 Finally, Hannah’s story. This is the best Drake story so far, the fifth in the series, as Hannah and Jonas at long last get together. Some of the other Drake books either weren’t plotty [yes I know that’s not a word] enough, or lost the plot a bit, but ‘Safe Harbor’ has a taut plot, with a much darker Jonas than usual, and a supermodel Hannah who finally finds herself. What happens to her—you won’t believe it, and it is terrible, but wonderfully written. The whole book is wonderfully written, filled with bad Russians and good Russians, romance and sensuality, a hint at Joley’s and Ilya’s story in the next book, and guess what: Jackson actually says more than a few words! It’s not absolutely necessary to read the novels in order, but if you like stories of good witches [really, they’re not that witchy, it’s just an adjunct to the characters and their relationships], psychic phenomena, true love and adventure, you’ll enjoy reading them all.
