I loved this book! It was the first of its kind that I read so I may be a bit prejudiced. Having said that it is a ROMANCE emphasis on romance! If that is not your cup of tea you will not enjoy it. I love books that concentrate on a relationship which is what this book does mostly, especially the first part. There are always the vampires to watch out for of cause and the humans who cannot tell Carpathians and Vampires apart and wouldn't care if they could.
It is a great start to the Dark series that has many many books now.
This book is terrible. For the first quarter, absolutely nothing happens except the head top Carpathian vampire guy sets his sights on a woman and finally shags her. That is it, for that much.
Boring as hell. Completely overwritten, turgid and melodramatic, and a complete and utter waste of time. Plenty of others of this sort of thing that are way more entertaining.
If you want something crappy and more gothic you might be interested, otherwise, forget it.
If you are interested in paranormal romance with a twist you have to read this book. There are many other stories in this series but I would strongly suggest reading this one first. Mikhail and Ravens story captures you from the beginning and introduces the reader to the meaning of "life mate" and how far a Carpathian male will go to protect her.
Dark Prince, the first in the series. what is there to say this book is brillant, you get hooked straight away this book brings out all your emotions, from anger and happiness to sadness, as soon as you start you wont be able to stop, it doesnt matter what order you read her stories, they all captivate your attention and you just cant stop reading them. Christine Feehan is a great writer if you like paranormal stories you'll love this author.
What can i say? This author is one of the best paranormal romance writers ever. Her stories are well plotted and leave you feeling happy and satisfied. Dark Prince is the first in the carpathian series, and definitely leaves an impression for the reader to look into the rest of the books in the series. It introduces us to the mail characters that this world is centering around and shows us a whole new world on nature. It is an awesome read, and i suggest that all readers of J R Ward and Laurell K Hamilton start reading Christine Feehan if they haven't already :0)
This book reads like fanfiction on characters you know or care nothing about. Typical vampire romance, with a bizarre genetically-inspired breeding twist, which seems to place women as prized and valued above men, but actually just reduces them to brood mares. A stupid and inexplicably stubborn heroine and a lackluster vampire who isn't quite a vampire.
I give it a three out of five because let's face it, it's about the same average calibre as all the other vampire romance books out there, and sadly, a little better than some.
This novel was the first romance novel that i had read, I never knew if vampires would make good characters, but Christine feehan has showed me a different, better side of the most fearful creatures out there. Christine Feehan has a great imagination. What ever is written in her novels seems to jump out at you and touches a part of yourself that you didn't know existed until she came along.

Feehans books are a must to read. Dark Prince is great start to a fantastic series!
No denying, Christine Freehan knows how to capture her audience with exciting plot and excellent writing - she got me hooked. Though this wasn't my favorite one of her books, it is still a great read and had me rivited especially at the storys climax when Ravens life was hanging by a thread. A true romantics book and I highly suggest it.
