– Customer review on 18/06/2008 This is the second book in the People of the Plains Trilogy.
In my opinion, it is an even better book than the first. The warlord is marching home with his Warprize. Along the way tragedy strikes and the love between Warlord and Warprize is tested as well as the friendships and bonds that have forged with others.
It's a very emotional book - I shed a tear or two along the way. The storyline dominates the romance a little in this one and secondary relationships come to the fore. Ultimately and movingly, it is about the deepening of the bond of love between two people and how they come through adversity to understand that theirs is a forever love.
Well written, unputdownable - fantastic reading! One of the best books I have read this year.
NB: You really need to read Warprize. This is very much a part of a series.
