"Without question, this is one of the genre's most fascinating, distinctive, and mesmerizing paranormal series."--"Romantic Times" Hail Glorious Reader: And now Tabitha Devereaux. A human, she has trained herself to fight vampires every bit as capably as any Dark-Hunter. Idiosyncratic and off-beat, she is my personal bane-and yet she beguiles me. There are only two small problems. She happens to be the twin of my mortal enemy's wife. More than that, Tabitha and her sister are being stalked by a power that will not rest until everyone she holds dear is dead. Unlike my Dark-Hunter brethren, I rely on no one but myself. They spurned me and I turned my back on them. But the only way to save Tabitha and her family is to find some way to bridge a two thousand-year-old feud. They say opposites attract, but can they stay together when even the Fates conspire to keep them apart? Then again, the Fates have never dealt with the likes of Tabitha Devereaux before. They're going to be in for quite a fight... --Valerius Magnus "An entertaining thrill ride."--"Publishers Weekly" on "Kiss of the Night" Visit Sherrilyn Kenyon's Web site at www.sherrilynkenyon.com and www.Dark-Hunter.com
From The Publisher:
Valerius isn't a popular Dark-Hunter-he's a Roman, which means that the largely Greek Hunters have a major grudge against him and his civilization for superceding them. To make things worse, he's very conscious of his aristocratic background and breeding. So it serves him right when he runs into Tabitha Devereaux. She's sassy, sexy, and completely unwilling to take him seriously. (Not to mention that she's the twin sister of the wife of former Dark-Hunter Kyrian-Val's mortal enemy.) What Tabitha does take seriously is hunting and killing vampires-and soon she and Val have to grapple with the deadliest of all Daimons-one who's managed to come back from the dead, and one who holds a serious grudge against both of them. To win against evil, Val will have to loosen up, learn to trust, and put everything on the line to protect a man he hates and a woman who drives him nuts.

I love Tabitha - finally a butt kicking heroine who can hold her own with the bad guys! Feisty and tough, she's been through alot of greif regarding her family. But can she afford to betray them for a man people want to kill on site?
Another great chapter in Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. It was wonderful to read Valerius's story and get his side of things on the history between him and Kyrian. Gives a person hope that even a "creature" as aloof and cold as Valerius can learn the value of compassion and love. As always the reader is treated to being a fly on the wall in some very intimate moments that get the heart pumping (among other things). And we also get to know Tabitha much better, as she has been a "bit" player in quite a few of the Dark Hunter novels and is known to anyone who has read the series. In this book we actually delve into her life and find out what makes her tick. Talk about feisty!
If you've read the other books in the series, then you really can't go wrong with this one. And if you haven't, then go back to the beginning and start reading!
As with all Ms Kenyon's books, you can't help but wish that you lived in this world and had supremely sexy men seemingly dropping out of the sky, and straight into your lap.....
How much did I love this story. We've met Valerius before in Zarek's story and in Talon's story but final we get to see him not as the evil bastard he is portrayed as in the other books. The relationship between Valerius and Tabitha Deveraux (Amanda's twin for those of you who have read the rest of the books - if you haven't go read them now) is fantastic, Kenyon manages to create almost an air of uncertainty around whether there will be a happy ending, which is crazy cause it's a romance novel, there has to be a happy ending. This is definitely one of my favourite in the Dark Hunter Series.
This book is sexy, tantalizing and VERY funny! I love Tabitha! She's great, she's sassy, and she sure can fight! Go girl!!!! I can't help myself but laugh when Zarek played around and hit Valerius with a bolt. I'm sorry to say, but it was funny. And I can imagine the look on Valerius' face when the macaroni (or something I forgot) that looked like his private jewel was served before him. Hahahahaha! You gotta read the book to know what I meant, and I assure you that you won't regret it, it's awesome book!
A roman in a greek world of Dark hunters Valerius with his strict and regal manner certainly doesn't fit in with a crowd that like to dress up in biker leathers and grunge. but he hadn't reckoned on a vampire hunter. or that she would stab him before she finds out that he is her brother in law's worst enemy. but hanging out with him she realises that he is merely misunderstood. people don't see the unrequainted love for a slave he has harboured over the centuries or that his half brother, and a god now, is torturing him for the fun of it. I really liked this book, a great read.
This book is fabulous. Sherrilyn Kenyon's dark hunter novels are a must read! Seize the Night finally brings together Valerius (the Roman general) and Tabitha (the vampire-slayer) who are great characters throughout the other series and definately needed a story. The dark-hunter novels are great the way they all tie in together so you really feel like you know the characters and are spell-bound waiting for the next book. Loved it!
The Dark Hunter books are awesome. Each book stands alone, but it does help to read them in order, or at least to have read a few, especially in this book as Tabitha and her sisters are set up in previous books and Nick is also a long standing character. If you are a Kenyon fan you probably don't need telling that this is a great book! And if you aren't read this book and you will be! The books have a sizzling undercurrent and the heros are absolute alpha males!
Ooooh I loved this one. Hope you do too. I loved the characters Tabitha and Valerius - she's so unrestrained where as he acts like he has a stick up his a---. But its all good - chalk and cheese they may be but definitely differences do attract. Add to this the very strained relationship between family and in-laws plus a whole bunch of baddies and you've got another Kenyon winner. Love seeing all the other characters from the other stories blending in. Lots of sub plots finishing and beginning.
Tabitha is considered by all who know her to be a force of nature, the crazy one in her family. Valerius is the straight-laced, very "proper", Roman general, whose idea of having dinner out is a seven couse meal. But when these two collide its not long before sparks begin to fly.
But lifes not going to be easy for these two. Especially when Valerius half brother, Zarek is throwing lightning bolts at him, all the other Dark Hunter hate him because hes Roman (they're Greek), and Daimons are trying to suck out Tabithas soul.
But when youve got love like this, its worth fighting for, and Tabitha and Valerius are masters at kicking ass.
I loved this story. Valerius and Tabitha are great characters and the story line of secondary characters set up future books. It is well written and holds your interest until the very end. I think the death of some familiar characters and the change in fortune of Nick add to the suspense. An excellent addition ot this series.
