I have just completed this one and thoroughly enjoyed it. Jaxon is a lady cop haunted by her past, a past that refuses to let her go and enjoy life. She has put everything into her cop life when sudden events put her into the arms of a dark handsome and dominating male...one who seems to be familiar. Lucian has longed for someone like Jaxon for centuries and now he has found her is determined to have her..regardless of the danger that surrounds her......

Everyone thought he was dead but not only that but a vampire. HIs lifemate is more firey than others and is a great read. she is haunted by a serial killer who has made her life hell so that anyone that she has feelings for gets killed. it makes her first reaction to Lucien is to protect him which we all know is just silly. i would have liked to more explore the whole human's as true evil but they mixed it up with some vampire clones.

First, yes, what kind of a name is Jaxx? really!If you enjoy a good vampire book to read, you might as well read this one. Although i am warning you, that after you read the third, fourth book of this series, uh...you might notice the monotony of the dialouges. All the men seem to be saying almost exactly the same lines, even the same words. It's almost like they are one and the same, except for the different names, and physical features. But don't take my word for it.

Dark Guardiantells the story of Jaxx (what kind of name is that anyway?) and Lucian, one of the legendary twins (and appears in Dark Legend). THe main plot of the story (besides romance and the love sceens) is Jaxx's psychopathic step-father who is determined to kill everyone who he percieves as coming between him and Jaxx. The step-father is eventually dealt with (although I don't think satisfactorly) and in between fighting the numerous vampires that are a prerequsite to any Christine Feehan novel, eventually the two characters fall in love with each other.

Despite my small gripe with the ending to the step-ather issue, I would still highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good vampire romance although I will stress that reading the other books before this one will be to your advantage as they do tend to discuss other characters who do not actually appear in this book.
