– Customer review on 17/10/2006 I think this is Sizemore’s best novel so far. If you’ve read the Crave the Night trilogy [I Hunger for You; I Thirst for You; I Burn for You’, as well as ‘Master of Darkness’, then you will know the background to this tale, but there is no need to read them if you haven’t, even though ‘Primal Heat’ is the sequel to ‘I Thirst for You’. ‘Primal Heat’ can stand alone. Sizemore has pulled all the strings together perfectly in this book. While some of her other stories are a bit overdone or melodramatic, she has reached top form here. ‘Mathias Bridger is a Prime in his vampire Family, a Hunter who has sworn never to become involved with a woman on more than a physical level because he has seen the lifemate of another hunter destroyed in a revenge killing. Phillipa is sister to Jo Elliot, who has just married Matt’s best friend Marcus. Phillipa and Matt meet at the wedding and . . . well, they probably had a better night then the happy couple. Pippa wakes alone, and it’s another three years before she meets Matt again. By this time her world and health has changed drastically. She’s determined to avoid him. He’s determined to avoid her. Yeah, we know how well that works. Amid vampire attacks and vampire slayer attacks and attacks on werewolves, love blossoms, to the dismay of both.
