"In the realm of the Dark-Hunters there is a code of honor that even immortal bad boys must follow: " "Harm no human. Drink no blood. Never fall in love." But every now and again a Dark-Hunter thinks himself above the Code. That's when I'm summoned. Who am I? I'm the one thing the fearless fear. Step over the line and it's my wrath you will face. Nothing can touch me. Nothing can sway me. I am relentless and unfeeling. Or so I thought until I met a female Dark-Hunter who goes by the name of Danger-it's not just her name, it's how she lives her life. She doesn't trust me at all. And who could blame her? She alone knows that I'm here to be judge, jury and most likely executioner of her friends. Yet she is my key to saving some of them. Without her, they all will die. Dangereuse St. Richard is a deadly distraction. Something about her is reawakening a heart I thought was long dead. But in a race against evil, the only hope mankind has is that I do my duty. And how can I do my duty when it means that I will have to sacrifice the only woman I've ever loved? "Kenyon is a master at creating spunky characterizations and cinematic action scenes spiked with wry humor." --Publishers Weekly on Kiss of the Night

Sins of the Night is another great installment in the Dark Hunter series and focuses this time on a character that is somewhat more than the usual "hero" of the story, and a female who is a Dark Hunter rather than a "mere mortal".
Followers of the series will love this one as we also get more insight into Ash (Acheron) and his "pet" demon Simi (who you really can't help but love), as these are two of the more mysterious characters and we all want to know more about them. (seriously, could Ash sound any more like a wet dream come to life?)
In this book we are introduced to Alexion (judge, jury and executioner of dark hunters who have turned against Acheron), and Danger, a tough-as-nails dark hunter who doesn't know who to believe.
Great plot, filled with suspense, tension, revelations and a whole lotta passion.
New readers of the series, don't start with this book, go back to the first one and start at the beginning - this is a series that makes a whole lot more sense when you read it in the right order.
This is the story of Alexion - a character of the Dark Hunter world I hadn't come across before. This character isn't quite a Dark Hunter, but he's definitely part of the world. A side-ways step in Sherrilyn Kenyon's world that is definitely worth a visit.
All the Dark-Hunter books are fascinating, with their levels of sacrifice, honour and general darkness. This one in particular has dark characters, who have been hurt so many times they reject everyone and everything. Alexion is Ash's right hand man, and his only loyalty is to Ash. Dangereuse (Danger) is entirely solitary, and they have a few difficult struggles as they leanr to overcome their fears and trust in the love that is blossoming between them. Highly recommended - especially for the extra insight it gives you into Ash's life.
Sins of the Night brings together Dangeruse (one of the few elusive female Dark Hunters) and Alexion (Acheron's right-hand man). The story is a nice twist from the rest of the series, with more insight being provided into Acheron's past and the histoy of the Dark Hunters. The love scenes are fantastic and the banter is hillarious. I love Alexion's one track mind when it comes to getting laid (its not often he gets to leave Acheron's home). If you haven't read the rest of the Dark Hunter books then seriously look for Night Pleasures and start.
My favorite of the Dark Hunter novels are ones which give equal time to the hero and heroine and to Ash and Simi. The later in the series you go, the more apt you are to find this equation, and Sins of the Night is no exception. If you are, like me, a Simi fan, you'll be delighted by this tale and the facets of her race it reveals.
Not to take away from the main romance in the novel, although after referring to each other as infectious one too many times our hero (Alexion) and heroine (Danger) make the reader believe they're dealing with a plague.
Other than that small annoyance, the only detractors from their romance are the usual ones found in the DH series - namely, the couple are well drawn with very understandable reservations and yet fall into bed with each other without much backup story.
Aside from that, Alexion's story is a highly interesting one and like all the DH novels before it, reveals another small piece in the universe's pie.
As an added bonus, this printing includes the short story The Beginning, which tells the abreviated tale of the very first Dark Hunters and the bargain struck between Acheron and Artemis. Something not to be missed by fans of the series.
I love this series, very clever how they twist in ancient history. well in this it is Acheron's executioner out to try save a friend before he does the unforgivable and ends up a Shade. a fate that he doesn't want anyone to share with him. at least he was lucky enough to get a body back, well sort of. this tells us a lot more about Acheron and about his back story with Artemis. I like Danger and her witty remarks, isn't it so true that hollywood always have british accents for anyone not American even if they are greek. a great book.
If you have been following the Dark Hunter series you must read this one!! This book finally uncovers more info about Ash and the original dark hunters......It also is the only book I can recall that has a female dark hunter as the main character. Danger is a great character who is funny, sassy and a force to be reckoned with in a fight!! The ending was unexpected but thats what I love about Sherrilyn Kenyon - she keeps you guessing right till the very end!!!
Sherrilyn Kenyon's dark hunter series is terrific! This story about Danger and Alexion is a little bit predictable and probably my least favourite of all the dark hunter novels. Definately worth reading as you learn more about Acheron in this one than any of the others and that is always worthwhile! You also learn more about "Simi" and her family which is fabulous. Sherrilyn Kenyon is a fabulous writer.
I just can't get enough of this series. It gets better and better. Sins of the Night is Alexion and Danger's story. Great characters full of strengths and vulnerabilities and each with a past that had led them to where they are now. I am always constantly surprised at the plots of Kenyon's story and I keep think how will it all end. She will come through for you. That's what I like about her - the only predictability is that the leads get together - but its how they get there which will hold you.
A very dark book, by the same author of the Dark Hunter series. The introduction on this book is really good and the end is very dramatic. Not really your everyday sort of book, very climatic and interesting. The charachters have been described very well. Anybody looking for a decent book should get this one.
