From The Publisher:
"Dear Reader," "Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day." "As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again." "But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace--the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?" "Julian of Macedon"

My first Sherrilyn Kenyon book, and man it had me laughing in places! Julian of Macedon made a Greek God mad, and as punishment has to live eternally as a Love Slave in a book, from which he can only escape on the night of the full moon for a month on saying his name thrice. Grace Alexander is a sex therapist... and is given said book by her best friend who thinks she needs to practice what she preaches for a change. Great read, great premise: off to find others in the series. Recommended.

This amazing book is the prequel to the wonderful Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. What do you think it would be like to be trapped in a book for 2,000 years, only being released when summoned to be subjected to being a sex slave? Well, that is exactly the type of question that Julian of Macedon could answer, he has had to pleasure women for a very, VERY long time. When the lucky lady, Grace Alexander, happened to summon him one not so sober night her world seemed to be looking on the bright side, fortunately for both of them, not a side that Grace was ready to experience. Julian, allotted only a one-month period of time to spend with Grace must use that time to figure out how to break this curse on him and escape the realm of darkness. Can Grace really help Julian break a 2,000-year-old curse?
I enjoyed this book very much, although it is slightly off-beat and a little different from her dark hunter novels. But they do all tie in with each other, so when you read other books in the series you really appreciate all the background info provided. Fantasy Lover is more in-depth with the romance than with the danger, magic and heroics of other Sherrilyn Kenyon books, but it's still worth the read for those who are a fan of her work.
A Macedonian warrior apparently ran afoul of the usual nogoodnik Greek godlings. As such, his curse is basically to hang out in limbo until the next airhead woman that wants a sex toy learns how to summon him.
This one, a bit more shy and retiring than the ones that just want to be shagged immediately, wants to find out what his story is, first. As he says, it is pretty rare for them to want to dress him.
Even though this isn't strictly part of the dark hunter series I still enjoyed this book immensely. Not only do you get some steamy scenes between Grace and Julian you also get a bit of an ancient Greek History lesson thrown in. It was hard not to get teary in some of the scenes but at least there's that happy ending we all look for!! Definitely worth a read.
A book in the Dark Hunter series, but not one that is crucial to the continuing story line. Probably not one of my favourites, but if you are a Kenyon fan, definetly worth reading. Grace and Julian continue to appear in other stories in the Dark Hunter series and if you are considering reading some Dark Hunter books this book is a good starting point if you are new to the series.
What would you do with an immortal Greek love slave? Well Grace Alexander had to face this very same question and guess what she came up with? Fall in love with him and try to set him free.
For Julian of Macedon, the love slave in question, things just aren't that simple, see he's falling in love with her, but he may not be able to stay with here in this time. So what's a love slave to do? Answer: fall in love and defy the gods themselves to keep the woman you love.
Highly entertaining and filled with wit and romance this book will keep you turning pages and rooting for the characters while begging for more. But don't worry, this book is loosely connected to the Dark Hunter series and Julian and Grace will return in the books to come.
I've read most of Sherilyn Kenyon's books. This one would have to be one of my favourites. I like the idea behind it; who wouldn't after all? As always her characters are a lot of fun, and her clever sense of humour shows through in the dialogue. Lots of fun.
I absolutely loved this book!!! although it wasn't my first of her novels i still found it entertaining and full of fun. You have your occasional stalker, crazy friends, jealous husbands, gods, sex slaves and to add more to the mix, vengeful brothers and seductive mothers, what more can you ask for?
Its a very sweet story about love and friendship. It brings two people that had suffered from love together in a spellbound way. It is beautifully written and makes you believe in the unbelieveable.
Makes you wish there were hunky greek gods living in your house huh?
Julian of Macedon is trapped in a book - only summond every few thousand years to serve the needs of wemon. It sounds exciting to have a sex slave a your beck and call, but what we find is a man who is confined to a darkend existance with no light or room to breath. This all changes when the beautiful Grace Alexander summons him to her (after one too many wines). The question is, what did he do to get into the book? Will Grace let him go or keep him?
