Winterborn and Sherrilyn Kenyon - the best in this anthology. We get introduced to Dante and Pandora - were-panthers and on opposing sides. But you know what they say about opposites attract - loved this story - its short but has all of Kenyon's talent poured into it. The second novella by Banks - ok - not really my thing and the last story was just = yeah nothing to say about that - probably best to borrow it - too bad you can't buy Winterborn separately.
Kenyon brings us an absolute jewel of a story, original, witty, hot and action filled this story will have you devouring every word and then going back to read it again. Ashley gives us a werewolf romance with a difference, and while I've never been particularly impressed with this author this seems to be one of her better short stories, that being said don't expect it to be anywhere near the standard of Kenyon. Banks gives us a vampire story with a twist and while there is no true happily ever after the conclusion is satisfactory and will leave you wanting more. Finally Handeland brings us a story of a shapeshifter with a bit of a twist, at times interesting and at times gross (you;ll know what I mean if you read it) this book will certainly keep you intrested, unfortunately that's about all that it has going for it, as along with Ashley's story, I found this story to be below the standards set by the other two. Now that that's been said buy the book if you collect one of the authors but otherwise borrow it from someone else.
The contribution from Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favourite of her stories, short or novel length. Dante comes across as fantastically hot and his steamy relationship with Pandora is fantastic. I especially liked how Kenyon brought the two damaged Were Panthers together - Arcadian & Katagaria showing that neither were superior. The rest of the stories in the collection didn't impress me much. Amanda Ashely's Werewolf story was a unique twist and for that I don't mind it, however I have to admit I really only read Kenyon's contribution. Worth a buy if only to read Winter Born.
To be honest I bought this book because I was after the short story by Sherrilyn Kenyon "Winter Born", the story of Pandora and Dante. Well yeah, I'm becoming obsessed with the Dark Hunter series that I have to read every story out there... hahahaha! Anyway, I really enjoyed the story, and as for the other stories, they're enjoyable but two out of the for stories weren't really for me. Overall, I really like it though.
