As always, a good tale is spun in this enjoyable story. While the plot is a little predictable, there is a nice twist to the end which made for a good ending. A feel-good Saturday evening read, which I thorougly enjoyed.
Sherilyn Kenyon is a gifted writer of the paranormal, romance and eye popping passion blended into one! An awsome novel that has you begging for more and searching for more information on the paranormal world they all live in. Enjoy...
I've really enjoyed the Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter Series, and the first novel in the Dream Hunter series was promising but Upon The Midnight Clear was so disappointing I didn't make it all the way through - and it isn't a long book.
The characters weren't engaging, nor was their situation. I felt as though Sherrilyn had written it all before, only much, much better.
There are plenty of better ways to waste an hour or two out there. I'd suggest you try them before wasting your money on this.
Fans who were expecting a full length novel may have been disappointed by this slightly more than novella length stroy which contains a series of vignettes of other characters in the back. This was a Dream Hunter story, and added only peripherally to the main Dark Hunter Series. While most of the book was up to Kenyon's usual high standard of fiction, I felt that the ending of the story was weak, and the plotlines too quickly pulled together to create the "happily ever after" scenario. While I did enjoy the story, I was left feeling unsatisfied by the ending. The vignettes at the end of the book were very interesting for fan of the series, and I believe that if you are a fan, these alone would make the book worth buying, along with a few interesting developments about the Dream Hunter curse.
First off Fishpond I must say I love your site so I feel somewhat guilty for saying the following about this book.
It is awful!!! Pure and simple! Sherrilyn Kenyon showed such great promise in her first six Dark Hunter novels but even these are now pure crap. After Devil May Cry I thought could she do worse and the answer is a big yes!!
If you are game try this book good luck. It's not much bigger than a standard Mills & Boon but a lot less entertaining and if you can stick it out, it will be over in about an hour and a half. I must admit to lasting to the end of chapter one before thinking Sherrilyn Kenyon needs to give up writing for a while and get a day job.
To the first reviewer- you must be easily pleased!
