This read was great fun, I laughed out loud. Elvi is an accidental vampire living in a very small, supportive town. Maybe a little too supportive. Birthday bites, looking-for-love (vampire style) singles ads, dracula movies, coffin vs beds debates, cheesecake...oh, and the little matter of who's trying to kill Elvi. Not to mention the council enforcer sent to invetigate this vampire breaking the rules, and you have a fun, slightly twisted love story! All about what not to do when you're a new vamp, or at least, about what not to let your friends do on your behalf.

This has got so much to offer, from the moment Elvi, an ‘accidental’ vampire who only knows what she read about in ‘Dracula’ wakes up and bangs her ehad on her coffin lid. It becomes even funnier whn Victor Argeneau arrives on behalf of the feared Council to investigate this vampire female who is advertiding in the personals for a mate, ‘only real vampires need apply’. This is a betrayal of the Council’s demand for secrecy, and Elvi’s lovelly neck would be on the chopping board if Victor hadn’t fallen for her lock, stock and fangs. Trouble is, there are assorted other vamps who have answered the advertisement. Is it one of these who is trying to hkill Elvi? As I sai, this is funny. It is also sweet and romantic and sensual. After a while it loses a little oomph, but if you want a ‘nice’ read, you’ll find it in this novel.
