– Customer review on 30/06/2008 Cole is so good at the minor characters. I have to admit that the heroine, ballerina-ghost Neomi Laress, bored me a little, and even the mad vamp hero Conrad [I’m sorry, but Conrad?], isn’t quite up to her usual level, but the characters of Nix and Mari make up for that, Nix particularly is a laugh, and it’s worth reading the book just for her. Mad bad vamp Conrad is imprisoned by his brothers in an abandoned mansion that just happens to be haunted by ghost Neomi whose mission in life is to scare everyone out of her house. Well you can’t scare a mad bad vamp, particularly when he’s chained up, but you can tempt him, and yourself. The thing is, when he gets loose and believes that, ghost or not, you’ve betrayed him, well you’re in big trouble. A nice book, a nice read, but not up to her first couple in the series.
