I loved this book. I actually think they are getting better although I agree that the love scenes are terrible. But I am totally hooked on them.

A good book, although I don’t think Cole has bettered her first two novels in this series. Be warned, while this novel isn’t an E rating, Cole gives ‘hot’ a new meaning, and it’s original, not the same old-same old of so many paranormal books. Holly is half-human, half-Valkyrie, although she doesn’t realise it, or the fact that there is a world apart from human, until she meets Cadeon Woede, a demon determined to guard her. Can she trust a guy with horns? Well, yeah, especially when she falls in love with him, but when Cade is forced to betray the woman he loves, all bets are off. Perhaps this novel doesn’t have the oomph of come of Cole’s other books, but it is a delight to read.

This book moved at a cracking pace, helped by Cadeon Woede, who was a really strong character. He's a demon with horns that nestle against his hair like a shell, unless he becomes aroused. Then they too become erect. So cool the thought of horns that are as sensitive as the rest of the body.

The adventure scenes were great, and the heroine was okay, though I found the whole glasses, long skirts, bun cliched - particularly with Cadeon being the whole bad-boy demon. But even with it being cliched, Kresley managed to fill out her character and make it work.

I've got to say the sex scenes were as bad as ever. Does Kresley get her ideas from Women's Forum or what? My husband and I laughed ourselves senseless. But have a laugh at them, or skim over them and the rest of this world is as interesting as ever. And as always there are new characters introduced that you want to get to know better, and the stories of old ones keep unfolding in the background.

I'll definately be buying the next book in this series.

Another 5 star entry from Ms Cole. I liked it a lot more than her other recent book 'Dark needs at nights edge'.

Pacing and hot factor almost as good as No Rest for the Wicked. Ultimately quite romantic as well. If you enjoyed her other books, this one wont disappoint.

Cade goes from bad boy to man of honour and the book delivers a tight plot, inexorably rising tension and the usual feel good ending!
