A widow? that is a new twist. Dayan is a sweetheart and he finds his lifemate only she is pregnant with her dead husband's baby. with heart troubles she is already saying her good byes to the world but that is the last thing Dayan can do. Add in some humans that want to take out anyone with extra abilities. I liked her character better than his as i like more the bad boy thing but still a good read.

Dark Melody has an extremely interesting plot that differs from the usual storyline in the series, unfortunately it fails to deliver and does not compare to the other books in the series.

The characters lack depth and the storyline plods along to an uninteresting ending, I feel this is Feehan's poorest effort, I would not recommned this book but please do not let it turn you off the Dark Series as most books are excellent.

Wonderful story! It is incrediby sweet and you've got to admire Dayan and his patience as his lifemate teeters near death - pregnant and with a severe heart condition. I would highly recommend this book. It deals with a Carpathian who cannot bind his mate and struggles with an internal battle as he watches her slowly die.

This book would have to contain one of the most interesting plots in the whole series, not only has the heroine got a weak heart which is threatening her life, but she has been maried before and is currently pregnant with that man's child (this is a total wow for any who have read even one of Christine Feehan's dark series). Unfortunately this is as about as exciting as the plot gets despite it's prerequisite of vampires to slay and secret societies to overcome.

While I recommend this book to you, keep in mind that I do so mainly because it is part of the Carpathinan series and is nessary to keep up with the events in theie world (the romance bit isn't too bad either). However, I have to admit that, despite the interesting plot start, this is perhaps Feehan's weakest full-length offering (some of the short stories are iffy) and will probably only be kept if you collect Feehan. I'd borrow it from a friend or a library.
