In Rocky Road to Romance Daisy is a non-stop overacheiver and people pleaser. She's trying to pay off school loans, finish her dissertation, babysit her brother, work at the radio station, deliver papers, intern at a nursing home, and act as a crossing guard for school kids. Of course she doesn't have time for love! But Steve, her boss, thinks she needs to make time for him and once her life is put in danger he makes sure that he's the one to protect her.

There is a dog named Bob and a hilarious older lady named Elsie Hawkins to complete the cast. It is definitely reminiscent of the Plum series and just an all around good, fun read.

This is one of the novels created by Janet Evanovich before the Stephanie Plum series. It's nice to see the early work of the author and is also an incite to where Stephanie Plum may have been created. This book doesn't have as many twists or scandals as her other books, it is really just a straight love story... but then there's nothing wrong with that! The best word I think to describe this book is 'sweet'.
