Powerful. Sensual. Seductive. He is all that is shamelessly erotic in a man. In her sexiest Highlander novel yet, "New York Times bestselling author Karen Moning stirs up a sizzling brew of ancient mystery and modern passion as she brings together a devilishly handsome Celtic warrior trapped in time . . . and the woman who's about to pay the ultimate price for freeing him. Age-old secrets haunt them. Deadly danger and irresistible desire shadow their every move. It's a relationship for the ages. And all that separates them is a mere thirteen hundred years. . . . Jessi St. James has got to get a life. Too many hours studying ancient artifacts has given the hardworking archaeology student a bad case of sex on the brain. So she figures she must be dreaming when she spies a gorgeous half-naked man staring out at her from inside the silvery glass of an ancient mirror. But when a split-second decision saves her from a terrifying attempt on her life, Jessi suddenly finds herself confronting six and a half feet of smoldering, insatiable alpha male. Heir to the arcane magic of his Druid ancestors, eleven centuries ago Cian MacKeltar was trapped inside the Dark Glass, one of four coveted Unseelie Hallows, objects of unspeakable power. When the Dark Glass is stolen, an ancient enemy will stop at nothing to reclaim it, destroying everything in his path-including the one woman who may just hold the key to breaking the ninth-century Highlander's dark spell. For Jessi, the muscle-bound sex god in the mirror is not only tantalizingly real, he's offering his protection-from exactly what, Jessi doesn't know. And all he wants in exchange is the exquisite pleasure of sharing her bed. Yet evenas Cian's insatiable hunger begins to work its dark magic on Jessi, his ancient enemy is about to obtain the final and most dangerous of the Unseelie Hallows-and the ninth-century Highlander must stop him from getting it. Nothing less than the very fabric of the universe and two passionately entwined lives are at stake-as Cian and Jessi fight to claim the kind of love that comes along but once in an ice age. . . . – Customer review on 14/11/2006 This book just cements the skill and creativeness of Moning. It interacts well with the twins from 2 different other books, and gives you an insight to what they are up to.
Karen Moning has great dialogue and moves the story along at a fast pace that has you staying up to read the whole book.
Wonderfully written story

– Customer review on 20/09/2006 My first of Karen's books and I just really liked the interaction between the main characters. Liked the story and the detail - has all my favourite mixes: hot sexy scenes, big, very big Highland He-Man, strong female lead - good story. Definitely adding this author to my collection. Look forward to reading the others in the Highlander series.

– Customer review on 02/06/2006 Couldn't wait to get my hands on this book as it's the latest in her series so far.
However, after her other books - which are fantastic - this one I found a little disappointing. I felt it dragged a bit and I got a bit sick of reading about what the character's were thinking and the climax to the story was over and done with quite quickly and effortlessly. I would have liked a more dramatic ending.
K.Moning is still a great author and I will continue to read her books.....I didn't dislike this book but it didn't live up to my expectations set by her other books...

– Customer review on 21/07/2008 I LOVED this book and Cian....hot hot hot and the baddest of the MacKeltar boys...and a sorcerer to boot. Truly sizzling for me....More so than Adam Black...and he is the most powerful of the MacKeltar.!!..he can see the fae. Awesome. I am so looking forward to the two more to come so that the FIVE can serve the purpose that the Queen fae has for them. I have already read this many times now and still find it funny when he tries to get into Jessi's brain and she's immune from him...haha He couldn't believe it. Awesome, this is my best book of the Highlander series.

– Customer review on 20/08/2007 There's nothing better than a gorgeous love story with a big, sexy, hunky man in it. Of course, it is well outside the realms of believable, but then, paranormal romance is not supposed to reflect real life-that is why us girls read these sorts of books. Anyway, this is the first Moning book I have read and I acknowledge I have started in the middle of a series, which can make following the story difficult, which is what happened for me in this book. It did not grab me, I am afraid. It lacked any real excitement and I did not feel any chemistry. I prefer Sherrilyn Kenyon's vampire books.

– Customer review on 24/07/2006 I like this book alot. But it wasn't as good as her other books. I still found it quite intersting but I like the thought of being taken back in time rather then being in this time. I still found it a good read.
