This book was so average and did not meet the usual high Kinley MacGregor standard, the plot is so absurd and unbelievable, topped by the throughly unlikable character of Branden and Maggie who both just come across as silly and ineffectual.
The only redeeming feature was the character of Sin who added some depth to a very shallow plot and basically uninteresting story.
What more can you ask from a great story - lots of sexual tension, strong and likeable leads, good supporting characters, humours (lots of) and don't you just love the tug of war between Mr-God's-Gift-To-Women and the girl-next-door. Hard to put down, so I didn't and burned the midnight oil instead.
What GREAT writing!!
Kinley MacGregor writes with great style. This book is sooo witty and had me laughing from the first page till the last page......the seductive, hot love scenes get the blood pumping and the general story made this book a great read.
I just loved Braden and Maggie and immensely enjoyed reading about their internal fights against their attraction for eachother, and Braden's fight against men-hungry women (hehehehe). But most of all, I loved Braden's brother Sin.....he cracked me up sooo much with his sarcasm, yet his dark, hidden side was sooo captivating. The torment Maggie went through as a child and the hard life both her and Sin had as children touched your heart.....all of this made this book more than just a hot romance....a very well-balanced story.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
This book will have you laughing out loud and rooting for the characters with all you've got. Filled with hilariously witty dialogue and hot love sceens, the story manages combine these elements with action and adventure in the Middle Ages to create a book you simply will not be able to put down. I strongly recommend this book for all romance lovers and especially fans of Sherrily Kenyon (they are the same author) and seek to assure you that the characters you will come to love all have their own books after this one either already published or in the works.
