It is a very different book. I must say I found it a bit slow going but I would not have put it away without reading it through. It was a nice little story. Annabel is a very different sort of character to the usual heroines. I liked the way Westcliff and his sister come into the story from the book Again the Magic. I am really looking forward to reading the 2nd book in this series where Lillian falls in love with Westcliff.

This book introduces us to the 'Wallflowers'. It is a sexy romance which does a great job of developing the characters of four wonderful women. Whilst it is a stand alone book, it is better to read the four books in sequence. There are a few things that prevent the book being a five star: one is the silly attitude of the heroine to class-she should be grateful she snares a gorgeous, rich middle-class man. The second irritant is the ending-it really is a bit weird and not in keeping with the other books. However, its a lovely read and a great start to a wonderful series.

I first got introduced to this series by reading book 2 "It happened one Autumn" - which was really good. This book (book 1 of the series) just lacked substance. It was a bit slow moving and all the drama seemed to happen at the end and happen so quickly. Also, I would love to have read about Lord Hodgeham getting what he deserved, but even that was taken care of quickly and quietly.

I'm a bit disappointed considering book 2 was quite good.....however, I will now read book 3 and see how it progresses....I'm looking forward to reading about Evie.

The male lead was great, a working middle-class entrepreneur which you don’t get too often in historicals. His character was very well written and made the book a worth while read.
However the female leads views on aristocracy were just so frustrating, but I suppose that was the point.
