You'll hear a lot about Sins dark traumatic past in this book (every second page), and it may get to the point were you'll be saying 'okay I get it, he has issues' but persevere because this really is a wonderful romance. And the supporting character, Simon, is a joy to read. For Simons story read the anthology ‘Where’s my Hero?’ by Kinley MacGregor, Lisa Kleypas and Julia Quinn.
A lovely book - well written. The dark aspects of Sin's past were cleverly balanced by humour, and characterisations not just of the two main characters but the other secondary people in the story. It had the potential to be too depressing but MacGregor handled the dispair of Sin's history by counter acting it with the love of the Heroine. What made it a fine read was the it wasn't too sickly, and the ending struck just the right note. One of her best works - I would also recommend 'Master of desire'
I was caught up in this story because of what the male lead Sin had gone through in his life and which brought to where he was. I just really felt for Sin, and who he is, someone who has suffered greatly and yet hasn't passed the point where he can still be saved. And what a heroine to come to the rescue. I liked the characters in this story, I liked the plot and the happy ending. Kinley Macgregor is a great story writer, she does not disappoint. Definitely read others in the series before this story so that you know what the connections are between characters and the interaction between different plots. Definitely a series for collection.
A rather entertaining novel in many ways. Although Sin is more of the cold and scared type, he’s actually pretty funny to read at times. I loved reading the parts at the beginning when he caught his future wife trying to escape, and the political ideals of the novel aren’t bad either. The language of the point of views fits the genres too. This is a very nice story.
WOW, this book definitely reaches the heart.
I loved the dark, devilish, souless personality of Sin. It intrigued me and I was captivated by his hard, brutal past. His struggle to overcome his past and attempt to love the one woman who gave her all to reach his lost soul made this book a great read! The best part was to find out that he was a virgin, along with her.....just added a nice twist to this book. A great read but read the other books first, otherwise parts might appear a bit confusing.
