– Customer review on 24/04/2006 Reece Champion is a Mageverse vamp, that is, he originally came from another universe where magic reigns, and the Magi [the male warriors /vampires] need to feed from the Majae [female witches]. Confusing? Add to it that the majority of the Magi are linked to Arthur and the Knights of Camelot, and that in the same universe is the Sidhe, or fairy kingdom, as well as a really rotten demon vamp bent on multi-universal domination, and you have an intricate backdrop that is admirably woven together.
Don’t let the background put you off. The main focus of the story is the relationship between Reece, who has been living as an protector on Earth for several centuries, and Erin, a disgraced FBI agent now working for The Outfit. Erin is unknowingly a Latent Majae, and has been ordered to romance the mysterious Reece Champion. The two characters are well-drawn and likeable, with considerable sexual tension between them –okay, let’s face it, the tension doesn’t last long. In this title in particular Knight is very heavy on the sex scenes, so Reece and Erin are continually releasing their tension—but the plot is still good, and if the ending is a bit over the top, and sexuality replaces sensuality, heck, this is an Angela Knight book. What do you expect?
