This fourth novel in the series based upon the wildly successful Halo game series follows Kurt Ambrose, a Spartan II, and the Spartan II project that he is integral in. Eric Nylund, the author of much of the series, has done another fantastic job. I would give this novel four stars, and it is, in my opinion, the second best of the series.
This is the fourth halo novel, written by Eric Nylund. Ackerson's ONI Section 3 have come up with a new race of spartans, but they need one Spartan II to lead them-Kurt. This novel details the fight between the new spartans, the covenant and the mysterious creations of the forerunners-the sentienels-to claim a mysterious Forerunner world reactivated by the Master Chief's destruction of Alpha Halo.
The War against the Covenant is going badly. Humanities only hope is the Spartans, trained from a young age to save the world.
The fourth Halo novel, and the third by the wonderful Eric Nylund, Ghosts of Onyx is one of the best. It follows a Spartan-II, Kurt Ambrose and contains details about Forerunners, Spartan-IIIs and the Fates of the remaining Spartan-IIs.
