Sam Vimes and the city watch are back again in a great tale that asks a few big questions and answers a new more. Pratchett is in fine form in this novel, with a more than healthy dose of giggles to be had. Whilst reading the other city watch novels does help with knowing the characters, but it is by no means essential. A fun story - buy it now!

This book stars some of my favourite Terry Pratchett creations Sam Vimes and the City Watch, this is the third of the city watch novels and Pratchett has really got the characters and the plotting down by this point. The mystery this time around is far more complex than those in the previous books and far more satisfying because of it.
