A fun Discworld novel, although I can't say that it is my favourite. I must say that in my opinion it lacks a little momentum in places, but overall it is still a well written piece of work with many laughs to be had over the fun and zany situations within. This one more than some others is a book that doesn't really fit in in a particular place with regards to timing/cast etc, although it is part of the gods series.

Pyramids is almost a complete standalone discworld book, with just small references here and there to the occasional other person.

This is his take on the whole Egypt and pyramid worship and the whole thing about the shape and construction of pyramids doing weird things with preservation and time.

It was great to pick up a discworld novel and find not only a whole lot of new characters, but a new country too! I loved both Ptraci and Pteppic, but the pyramid builder and his sons were masterly. Pyramids is another superb novel by a wonderful author. Highly recommended.

"Pyramids" is the tale of apprentice assasin Teppic from the city of Dejelibeybi. This is a unique Discworld novel in that its major characters have not yet since appeared in any other book. The best parts of this book feature a glimpse of what it takes to graduate from an Assassins' Guild. We also get to meet the hilariously name camel, You Bastard, who just happens to be the Discworld's greatest mathematician. Another great Discworld novel!
