Whereas I agree with other reviewers that this is not Linda Howards best effort, it is still an enjoyable read.
It does get a bit 'immature' in parts and you are left thinking you mistakenly picked up a teen read.
It still has the unmistakable Linda Howard mystery and intrigue though, for which you can forgive the less than steller effort.
This isn't Linda Howard's best book. It seems as though it was meant to be funnier than it actually is, which is a pity. Her quirky style is still evident within the story but the plot really lets her down. There aren't many surprises for the reader and the characters are a bit shallow. In saying that, if you like Linda Howard and just want to read something she's written then this is for you.
I enjoyed this book, and though Linda Howard may have better written books out there, this book made me think about "Mr. Perfect"
Though some dialogues were too peppy, and the fact that they seemed like they were in high school and not the workforce was a little annoying, it was an enjoyable stay-home read, perfect for a night with nothing important to do.
This is a very American book with American ideals and morals, personally I found this book to be annoying. The idea is fun and I did like the main characters - even though the heroines "pay fines for swearing" thing was annoying to say the least - but I didn't think the book was particularly well written. If you're a Linda Howard fan you'll probably like this, for all others there are much better books from other authors out there.
