Classic Michael Palmer. The quality and sophistication of the plot are as you would expect, yet after so many books, Palmer still keeps you guessing. There is no 'magic-formula' to his writing, you need your wits about you if you think you're going to figure it out before the very last page. But even if you do cheat and read that first, it still won't make any sense to you till you've read the rest of the volume. I just love reading an author who has lived the character they write. In Palmers case, it's ER doctors - he is one. He knows what he's talking about which gives his writing credibility and realism not seen from pretenders. Enjoyable, stimulating and addictive.
