An insightful book that follows the journey of a woman in a workplace she may otherwise wish not to be in if not for family and financial commitments. Well worth the read for those in this position, or in charge of people in a similar position. The lessons, taught in the form of a story show us how to overcome obstacles in work as well as injecting some fresh energy into a tyred and possibly booring job. Great value book.
Short, simple and easy to read, this book is a piece of cake. The 'findings' in Fish! can be applied to your job no matter what it is, and it can also apply to your life. Ever heard of the KISS principle? Well, the author of this book must of because this book is effectively 'keeping it simple stupid'.
Fish! is a book that all managers should give to their employees who don't seem happy in their work or do mundane tasks. The book shows the reader that they choose their attitude to their work and can set about to make the workplace as fun as they want.
It is a short, easy read that would only take a couple of hours. Not too much to ask anyone to read.
Great for keeping employees and therefore employers happy.
Short peppy read. Very relavent topic as we are in the midst of redundancies at my organisation. Found I had been pulled along with the crowd with negative opinions and bleak conversations of no future for us after redundancy etc. After reading the book I changed my attitude to it all and I have found myself lighter, happier and also looking forward to getting out of the organisation I am working for and heading off into a brighter future! Simple but powerful book.
This is a great book, very easy to read and a lot of power in the words. Very short and the principles in this book are translatable to any job and your life in general. Very straightforward and I would recommend.
A simple tale, written simply, a bit precious and repetitive but with some sound teaching for say very young people or someone older who has lived a very sheltered life or is looking to improve themselves and their lives.
I was on a real low at work and this book really made my spirits lift up and feel good about going to work again on Monday. The fish philosophy is really simple and logical - you choose the way you feel towards your work/workplace. And this is based on a real fish market and how the employees decided to make work fun, even though work is tough, dirty, sloppy and boring. I would definitely recommend you managers out there to give this book to new staff in your orgranisation to get them into the FISH! philosophy!
