heaps of great recipes in this books, I honestly didn’t know where to start. Whether you are cooking for yourself or for the family or throwing a dinner party with you friends or maybe just trying to impress the in laws or that special someone, this is your book; you won’t find another one better. This also makes a great present I bought it for my friend a few yrs ago to put in her glory box and now that she’s moved out she wouldn’t survive without it. Fishpond beats the price to don’t bother looking anywhere else, your wasting your time.
Like every other reviewer here, I loved this book. And if you cook nothing else from this book, it is worth it for the Salt & Pepper Squid recipe alone.
This is a fantastic book! A great introduction to the many cuisines and cultures that make Australia such a wonderful and diverse place to live. The book covers all of the best known regional recipes from each country and you'll have a great time trying all of the recipes. The book helps you rethink the way you use everyday ingredients, introducing new cooking methods and flavours. It is a wonderful accompaniment to the DVDs of the series, and I would recommend having both so you can watch the episode containing the recipes you are making.
My favourite recipes so far are the salt and pepper squid, the Portuguese charcoal chicken and peri peri sauce, and Migas. Yum!
A lovely book, featuring 34 countries from Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand and the USA. The dishes use tradititional herbs and spices and seasonal vegetables and give tips on key ingredients and cooking methods. Most of the recipes are very usable like the salt and pepper squid from China and the Semolina Orange cakes from Turkey. The photography is beautiful and inspiring. For anyone who wants to cook in a more adventurous way this is the book for you.
