This is the best cook book I have ever brought in my life. Combined with the TV series (which is fabulous)you can't go wrong. I have cooked a few recipes and they have come out just like Annabel has cooked. I highly recommend it.
Fantastic book, am gradually cooking my way through! Love the little extras Annabel has included. Would highly recommend to homecooks who love fresh, tasty and wonderful food.
Watch your back, Jamie - Annabel is now seriously in the mix as one of the most approachable, easy to use and healthy eating television cooks out there, and she's been doing it from her home in New Zealand for many years now. I thought that this book was just brilliant, from the perspective of someone who is a reasonable dessert/cake cook but who sometimes struggles for inspiration on the savory front. This book contains a couple of winners to remedy that - like homemade lavosh and olives, and a "busy person's bread" recipe that I have been making every 2-3 days since I purchased this book! The recipes are practical and very easy to follow, designed for the ordinary person and not someone with access to exotic delis and upmarket food halls. Fresh, simple and natural - if you find Nigella really annoying and her recipes second-rate, then give Annabel a whirl, you won't be dissapointed.
Yes this is a great cook book
great simple food that looks like it was made by a great cook but little old me
cooked it with no trouble
the chocolate is a must do
watch the dvd and its all east as!!!!!!!!
Kia ora folks.......what an absolutely awesome cook book. Having watched part of the series, and consequently purchasing the DVD series as well, I just had to have the accompanying book. I love the way Annabel cooks, and she does it in a very simple way. To go and collect your own food etc. and bring forth those items to a table, and to share ..... how very satisfying. There are too many yummy recipes, and I shall be attempting to try them all.
The cookbook is absolutely beautifully set out, with amazing images of the delight that is Aotearoa. Annabel makes it all very simple. And none of those soopa doopa kitchens, just a very homey and down to earth kitchen.
So I severely recommend this cook book, and I for one shall take delight at spending many hours pouring over the recipes and cooking to my hearts content.
