My fathers German so I was brought up on a lot of tradional german cooking. This book is great and the recipes are quite thorough in explainingthe procedures. There aren't any pictures though which I always like. There is a good section on starting from scratch pastries. I'm yet to venture with that yet but the potatoe pancakes turned out great. I also like as it has German and English names of the recipes as some I only know the German word. Glad I bought it and being hard cover will last well to hand down to my children...
