I recommend this book to adults and children alike. Any age can appreciate the gentle and loving message in this book.

It is deep and touching with simple striking illustrations and simple phrasing. The emotions and lessons of unconditional love is so touching, and it is a beautiful way to help spark conversation with your children about giving, love, sharing, kindness, simplicity, and simply being at one and ok with themselves.

A fantastic book for all ages. I used this book for teaching higher grades as well as young children. It is a wonderful story of how a tree gives and gives until it can give no more. A great book for discussion and the teaching of personification as well. Highly recommended.

I don't understand why this book is so popular. To me it is a story about greed. Of giving everything of yourself until there is nothing left and getting nothing in return. Unconditional love is one thing but there needs to be a line drawn whereby you retain your self. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. The little boy never learnt to value the tree who gave all of itself and for what? Yes there are lessons to be learnt within the pages of this book but this book represents a horror story.

Awesome book. First purchased this book 20 years ago in the USA for my nephew and just purchased another copy for my own child and will keep for any future grandchildren. A beautiful book to read and pass on to family generations.
