Classic. I'm now 30 years old and this is still a private joke between my Dad and I. I went thru a (long) phase when I was a small child, of only wanting Dad to read me GO, DOG. GO! at bedtimes. Nothing else would do. And I remember it to this day. Actually, Dad sent me a text a few minutes ago saying "Hello, again. Do you like my hat?", which made me laugh and then prompted me to want to buy myself a new copy of this book and leave a review. Life changing! :)

My two and a half year old son absolutely loves this book, and I remember being equally enamoured with it when I was a child. The simple pictures, words, and concepts are great for capturing the attention and imagination of a child. P.D. Eastman is great for early readers, with lots of rhyming words, rhythm and expressive language. Older children enjoy the subtle humour in the story - particularly the section about the funny hats. Kids also enjoy the unusual surprise ending. I find it difficult to understand why this book is so hard to find in "normal" bookstores.

I was bought up on the Dr seuss books and go dog go is a great one for teachign cildren to read. It also teaches colours, opposites, numbers, everything. A great book for children to start with, as each page does not have too many words and is repetitive, making it amn easy book for all ages.
