I personally feel a lot of hype was made about this book. Though having worked with children for 10 years, there were days where I would have liked to have read this book to the children. I guess it's a tongue in cheek approach to a children's book, but over all it didn't really do it for me. I excepted more, something different, then again god knows what I was expecting to be honest. It isn't horrible, nor is it fantastic, so I'm going to give 3/5.

Very funny, I don't have kids but from hearing stories and having a much younger sibling I totally understand this. Very nice mock bedtime story asking why the kid won't just sleep! I felt sorry for parents when reading this! Nice illustrations, the swearing gets a bit heavy sometimes though and I reckon the book could have been effectively written without it (and this is coming from a swearer!)

what a yuk piece of wasted tree. I have never come across a book I actually thought was a disgrace to literacy and its own topic. Proof any moron can get something printed. How sad that this should ever be read to children or any form of human life. crap crap and crap

Yes, I feel sorry for the parents reading this too - but even sorrier for their children. This book is appalling, and a good example of the trash that passes for writing these days. Making "sheep" rhyme with "sleep" does not make someone a poet, and the book is aimed at the lowest common denominator, who in turn lap it up, find it funny and turn it into a best seller. Go the another page of this website to a separate listing and see the responses to the one negative review on this book - it gives a good idea of the mindset of the market it is serving. Incompetent parents have enough cop-out excuses for not feeling guilty about their lack of parenting skills - this book is simply another one.
