About the Author

Kirk Paul Lafler is consultant, founder and CEO of Software Intelligence Corporation (1983-present), an IT, database, consulting and training solutions provider to users around the world. Kirk has worked with a variety of database, programming languages, analytical software, and web search technologies since 1979. As the author of several books including PROC SQL: Beyond the Basics Using SAS, Second Edition (SAS Institute. 2013), Power SAS: A Survival Guide (Apress. 2002), Power AOL: A Survival Guide (Apress. 2002), Kirk has written hundreds of professional papers and articles for conference proceedings, journals and other scholarly publications. Kirk is an adviser and adjunct professor at the University of California San Diego Extension for the Specialized Certificate in SAS Programming curriculum; Invited speaker, keynote presenter, mentor, event leader and educator to user groups, conferences, seminars and webinars; recipient of nearly two dozen "Best" contributed paper, hands-on workshop (HOW), and poster awards; and has served on numerous Advisory Boards.

Charles Edwin Shipp is consultant, founder and CEO of Consider Consulting Corporation (2010-present), a global provider of analytical applications, consulting services and technical support solutions. Charlie's technical and business experience involves working on mainframe, mini and microcomputers designing, developing and testing program code using a variety of software languages including SAS software, JMP software, FORTRAN, JCL, and other languages since 1970. As the co-author of three books including, Quick Results with SAS/GRAPH Software and hundreds of professional papers and articles for conference proceedings, journals and other scholarly publications; Charlie is an invited speaker, conference leader and trainer at hundreds of user group conferences, events and meetings; and is the recipient of a dozen "Best" contributed paper and poster awards. Charlie is currently involved as an eBook author, curriculum designer and developer, instructor, smart device app developer, sasCommunity.org Advisory Board member, and mentor, among his many other interests.
