It is such a shame that Fishpond does not allow for a great button when asked to do the rating, or even a fantastic button ... I would not be exagerating if I siad that this is by far my favourite children's book ever!! I am totally infatuated with this little creature. I am so enthused with it that I am planning a gruffalo birthday party at the end of October for my two children. I have discovered a whole beautiful, colourful Gruffaised world on the internet. I have discovered party invitations, cake recipies and decorating hints! It is clear that I am not the only fanatic! I can, without reservation, recommend this book, and its sequal, "The Graffalo's Child", it is colourful, entertaining and the kids just love it. I have also obtained the multi-media copy, and we played it on a trip from the outback to Perth over December .... the kids responded wonderfully to the delightful storytelling, and I have to say, we found it equally relaxing and enjoyable! They demanded to hear it over and over again! Needless to say ... we had a fantastic 15 hour trip! Thank you Julia and Axel... you have indeed created something that I pray will thrill children and parent alike for many years to come!! A must buy!!!!

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheiffler are a match made in children's book heaven! His quirky and colourful illustrations and her rhyming prose make the book a hit for kids and their parents alike. This is one book you will not get tired of reading over and over again at bed time!

my son had this at preschool and all the kids enjoyed it now he has his own copy at home and he cant get enough of it! highly recommend this to any parent

This is the best book my kids have in their collection. They ask for it all the time. Lovely story, great imagination, beautiful illustrations, even greater conversations with your child after reading this book. It is a book that stimulates child's visual experience and imagination. I would recomend this book to anyone :) As a suplement I would recomend watching this story on DVD too, my kids loved the sound efects, music and again it the DVD just brought this story to life.

Fantastic story, my 4 year old who has not been terribly interested in reading and struggles with attending will sit and read this with me, sure sign of a great book!

A fun, easy to read story that would be suitable for children of all ages.
The rhyming sentences makes it fun to read and the colourful pictures great to look at.

This book is fabulous. The problem-solving demonstrated by the mouse is fantastic for the age group and entertaining to adults. The rhyme used throughout is easy and not contrived at all. My two year old son and four year old daughter love it, and so do all adults that read it to them!

This is our favourite book! We started reading this to our little girl when she was 6 weeks old and she loved it! I buy this for all our friends when they have a baby, it has great illustrations.
