As a Beauty Therapist I recommend this book to anyone who wants to experiment with make up and develop their techniques for application. We keep this book in our clinic and often use it as inspiration, for fresh ideas and also for make up for special occasions such as proms. It is easy with step by step instructions and the looks can be created with any brand of make up.
You often see books entitled the "Ultimate" this or the "complete" that, but this time, the title is bang-on accurate. Rae Morris gives brilliant, sensible and achievable advice - easy to follow, and superbly illustrated.
I hung off buying this book for quite a while, and now I wish I'd just bought this one, instead of two or three others that I got in the interum.
The photos are lovely, the models varied, and she also includes some excellent techniques and "looks" for the over-40s. Maybe not so many as for the young ones, but at least the older woman gets acknowledged and catered for.
If you're going to buy any make-up book, make it this one.
Being a bit of a tomboy in my younger years and therefore a novice to alot of this sort of thing I found this book really user friendly, a good entertaining read and it really does live up to its promises. Techniques are well explained as well as choosing the right tools and things to look for to build up a useful makeup kit. Excellent.
Great book for helping you have the most amazing look. I have learned a few new secrets from it and think you shall too. It is especially good for eye make up. Beautiful pages and useful tips.
I learnt so much from this book, even though there is only a small section for the over 40's, I have made the changes to the way I have applied my makeup especially blusher & have noticed such an improvement. Thoroughly recommend.
