– Customer review on 23/10/2008 I read the first Skinny Bitch last year and went vegetarian for five month, but got a little frustrated with a lack of variety in my diet. Having re-read the original recently I've decided to give the vege thing another go, and was hoping the In the Kitch edition would solve the problems I faced last time. Not really so, I'm afraid.
While I still adore the style of writing, the book was a little simplistic and didn't really offer anything I couldn't find surfing the net or using a little commonsense.
Instead of offering exciting meat-free options, the book gives modified retreads of old recipes. I certainly didn't need a cookbook to instruct me on putting a veggie burger on a bun with lettuce and tomato.
If you're really not confident in modifying your old diet to include meat-free alternatives this is probably a good book to start off with, but definitely dont pick it up if you're a seasoned vego or vegan looking to add some sass to your diet.
