This is a must have for new parents. All the usual info is here - sleep routines, nutrition, development, etc, but it also contains heaps of quotes from real parents about their experiences. This helps you to realise that you are not the only one who has had whatever problem you are looking up! Of course, being from Kaz Cooke, it is also frequently hilarious! This is a fantastic gift for new mums. Highly recommended
i enjoyed reading this. i think it would be a god-send for those parents, or parents to be. a really great read, also with some very impressive and amusing illustrations, such as the one on the cover!! pretty entertaing, and also packed with helpful tid-bits and triva that is useful for not only parents, but everyone~!
This book is a good overview for anyone looking after a young child. The book is more detailed in information for newborns, that generally being the topic new parents need the most help with! There is a lot of information in here on different topics (feeding, sleep, play, education) and I have found it a little too general to be useful once you get past the newborn information. Still, the book is a relaxed and humourous guide, and definitetly useful if you want some quick, general information.
This book is like a new parents bible! If you enjoyed "Up The Duff" by Kaz Cooke, then you'll love this follow on book. It's 772 pages long so is best used as a manual to go to when you need advice on nearly anything under the sun regarding babies and toddlers. The copy I got was unfortunately a U.S. edition one though which didn't list relevant places to get help like the Aussie version does in Up The Duff. Includes Kaz's batty sense of humour which helped us when our baby was really getting us down. We found it great for looking up things to see if they were "normal", puts ones mind at ease with a newborn!
This is an excellent book and a wonderful addition to my child-rearing library. I used it as more of a reference book as my baby was in her first year, and often refer to it to see if there are any hints I can use. One thing I liked was the help with baby routines – something that is a little tricky to get your head around in the first year when baby’s change constantly.
This a really good gift for mothers. This is just as good as her pregnancy book "Up the duff" it contains lots of factual information, but is written in a way that is hilarios, and that every mother can relate to. This is one you might even be able to get your partner reading.
