"TRACY HOGG HAS GIVEN PARENTS A GREAT GIFT-the ability to develop early insight into their child's temperament." "-Los Angeles Family When Tracy Hogg's "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer was first published, it soared onto bestseller lists across the country. Parents everywhere became "whisperers" to their newborns, amazed that they could actually communicate with their baby within weeks of their child's birth. Tracy gave parents what for some amounted to a miracle: the ability to understand their baby's every coo and cry so that they could tell immediately if the baby was hungry, tired, in real distress, or just in need of a little TLC. Tracy also dispelled the insidious myth that parents must go sleepless for the first year of a baby's life-because a happy baby sleeps through the night. Now you too can benefit from Tracy's more than twenty years' experience. In this groundbreaking book, she shares simple, accessible programs in which you will learn: - E.A.S.Y.-how to get baby to eat, play, and sleep on a schedule that will make every member of the household's life easier and happier. - S.L.O.W.-how to interpret what your baby is trying to tell you (so you don't try to feed him when he really wants a nap). - How to identify which type of baby yours is-Angel, Textbook, Touchy, Spirited, or Grumpy-and then learn the best way to interact with that type. - Tracy's Three Day Magic-how to change any and all bad habits (yours and the baby's) in just three days. At the heart of Tracy's simple but profound message: treat the baby as you would like to be treated yourself. Reassuring, down-to-earth, and often flying in the face of conventional wisdom, "Secrets of the BabyWhisperer promises parents not only a healthier, happier baby but a more relaxed and happy household as well.

This book has some good points and some not so good points. It was helpful but I wouldnt tell every mother-to-be to run out and buy it. I am glad I read it, it was useful in some aspects, for example it really helped me to understand each of my babies cries but I just wouldnt rave about it. If your looking for some tips though then it could be a help to you.
This book is just wonderful. Did not get it until baby was 6 weeks on, but from then on it was heaps easier and still is to this day and he is 3 next month and still loves his sleeps......
Wish I had starting reading this before he was born...
This book came recommended to me by alot of the woman at Antenatal class. So I went out and bought it.....it was fantastic.
I highly recommend that all mums with babies should read it.
However, you don't need to agree with everything in it for it to be useful.....it's surprising how can gain a few very useful tips.
An excellent book to help equip new and old mums.....
Really interesting and looking forward to the arrival of our little one to practice on. A lovely and very informative read. Would recommend to new mums.
I thought this book was excellent - it's a voice of reason among some pretty extreme views in baby books. Lots of practical advice which recognises differences between babies and parents.
I enjoyed some parts of this book and others seemed to go against the grain of respecting a baby's needs. Like most parenting books take the good bits out of it and don't feel the need to incorporate those bits that you don't feel comfortable with. A good read but maybe borrow rather then buy.
i read this book for my childcare class at school, and to be honest i actually found it very interesting. it was full of usefull hints and tips for parents or parents-to be, as well as other misc. information. i think any parents or expecting parents would really find this book incredible helpful. it would be a very useful book to have in your bookshelf
I read this book after having baby number three and it kept me totally sane. Now use it for baby number four who is only 6mths old and find it just as good. Very practical, simple to understand and you don't have to read it from cover to cover. Once you read the first couple of chapters to get the principles, each chapter deals with a different issue and can be read on its own. Not a difficult read, the Author uses real annecdotes that brings the method to life. I am looking forward to purchasing her book on Toddlers to see how she deals with this age group. My only dissappointment is she has not written a book for teenagers !! ( I also have teenage twins and could use some teenage whispering to get me through!!).
