– Customer review on 17/06/2006 As soon as I started reading this book, I was gobsmacked.... this is me!!! I've known I have BPD for about 7 years now, and have read alot on the subject but this book really helped me to find words to describe what I was feeling and going through to others. I even gave it to my mum to read when I finished so that hopefully she could understand a little bit of the world I live in. This book is short, but comprehensive, and covers alot, it also has a passage at the end of each chapter which describes the life of a patient named sara, and I found that this little section after each chapter really humanised and made real the subject matter of the previous chapter by putting it into the perspective of a real person, not just words on a page. I Highly recommend this book for both borderlines and non-borderlines - both will gain something from reading this. However, for those who have BPD, if you are easily triggered, try to keep safe when reading it, or maybe talk to your therapist about it first, as I found some chapters (especially the one on abuse) to be a bit distressing and triggering. Despite this, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
