What is it I hope for from this book? To inspire a quiet revolution in the whole way we look at death and care for the dying and the whole way we look at life, and care for the living' Written by Buddhist meditation master and popular international speaker Soygal Rinpoche, this highly acclaimed book clarifies the majestic vision of life and death that underlies the Tibetan tradition. It includes not only a lucid, inspiring and complete introduction to the practice of meditation but also advice on how to care for the dying with love and compassion, and how to bring them help of a spiritual kind. But there is much more besides in this classic work, which was written to inspire all who read it to begin the journey to enlightenment and so become 'servants of peace' working in the world.

A must read for anyone interested in buddism not purely a look at tibetan buddhism but a book that make you think about life and how you live and of death and how prepared you are for it. Many of the incites in this book will ring true to the reader and they may begin to grasp a glimmer of what life means if not the meaning of life
This is a classic but it leaves out some very important stuff on some topics such as reincarnation I have to question the motives of the Author. Tibetan Buddhism has areas that are quite secretive and it almost seems like some areas in this book have been written with the intentional purpose to mislead. I don’t get the sense that the author means anything but good, but still one needs to read with a critical eye. That being said this is a very interesting text and the very reason that one needs to search and examine is an important opportunity in itself.
